Motocross and Supercross racing that were once sensational events in India especially in Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore and Pune, are slowly losing their sheen with races becoming a rarity.

Organisers and riders blame lack of sponsors and encouragement, and rapid urbanisation, resulting in lack of space for tracks for rehearsals and races. Earlier, there were a lot of participants and a good audience as well. But the number of contestants and the size of audience have come down. Motocross and Supercross in india as a sport, have great potential. But it is unfortunate that even automobile manufacturers don’t sponsor such events these days
